Can Any Nespresso Machine Parts or Accessories Go In The Dishwasher? What You Need To Know

If you have recently become a new owner of a Nespresso machine, knowing how to properly care for it and keep it clean is critical to protecting your investment. Is Nespresso dishwasher safe? Whether or not machine parts, frothers, glasses or cups are dishwasher safe is a common question. The answer is – it depends! Keep reading to learn more.

Hand Wash Nespresso Parts (Water Tank, Drip Tray, Used Capsule Container)

Regardless of whether you have a Nespresso Vertuo or Original machine, you cannot put the water tank, capsule container or drip tray in the dishwasher. You must wash these components by hand using warm soapy water. Be sure to dry them completely before returning the parts to the machine.

Exception To The Hand Wash Rule

If you have a Creatista or Lattissima Original line model, some parts are dishwasher safe. For the Creatista, you can machine wash the stainless steel milk jug. For the Lattissima range, all components of the rapid cappuccino system may be washed in the top rack of your dishwasher or by hand.

Most Nespresso Frothers Are Not Dishwasher Safe

Only the newest Nespresso frother model, the Aeroccino 4, the jug may be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher. However, if you have the Aero4, be sure that your washer won’t reach temperatures above 158 degrees Fahrenheit or 70 degrees Celsius. If it does, it may damage your frother. Nespresso also warns that you should avoid placing the frother over the dishwasher pin as this could damage the inner coating. The only part of your Aeroccino 4 that cannot be machine washed is the frother base.

If you have a Nespresso Aeroccino 3 frother or the older Aeroccino+, these are not dishwasher safe. You will need to wash by hand. You should clean both the jug and the whisk after each use. Remove the jug from the base and remove the whisk from the jug. Remove the lid from the jug and separate the seal from the lid. Wash all four pieces with a damp cloth and mild dish soap. Alternatively, some users have added water and a little dish soap up to the bottom max line in the jug and then turned the frother on to clean it. Rinse with water and air dry or dry with a towel.

Many Nespresso Glasses, Cups & Mugs Can Go In The Dishwasher

According to the information on Nespresso’s website, most drinkware accessories are dishwasher safe. For some reason, it is not stated whether the popular Lume or Origin mug collections can go in the dishwasher. Social media posts suggests they are dishwasher safe, but may be worth checking the packaging or contacting Nespresso to be sure.
